The 159,300 sq. ft. Roswell Park Medical Research Complex on a 25 acre campus in Buffalo, NY recognized its need to increase chilled water capabilities as well as segregate the campus's chilled water systems in to a north and south zone. Encompass Engineering worked in collaboration with the building team to provide a design-build framework which would have the project functional in an eight month time frame. The mechanical/electrical systems and equipment necessary had to be installed over and tied into an existing operational chilled water system to allow proper testing of the new system and minimal shut downs to connect to the existing system.
